New U.S. Shipping Policy & Update

At Love My Mat, we've always believed that ordering from us should be as simple and transparent as possible. As a women-owned, Canadian small business, we know every purchase matters, and we work hard to make shipping fair, reliable, and affordable.

Unfortunately, shipping to the United States has become increasingly complicated. Trade policies, tariffs, customs regulations, and courier fees continue to change, often with very little notice. As a small business, we're doing our very best to keep up with these changes while continuing to serve our wonderful U.S. customers.

Because of this, we've updated our U.S. shipping policy.

What Has Changed?

Orders shipping to the United States are now sent DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid).

This means you'll pay the shipping cost at checkout, but any duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, or other import charges assessed by U.S. Customs or the shipping carrier are the responsibility of the customer upon delivery.

We know this isn't ideal, and honestly, it isn't our preference either. Unfortunately, these costs have become too unpredictable for a small business like ours to absorb while keeping our products fairly priced.

What This Means for U.S. Customers

Here's what you can expect when placing an order:

  • Shipping is calculated at checkout. You'll see your shipping cost before completing your purchase.
  • Import fees are not included. Depending on current U.S. regulations, your order may be subject to duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, or other import charges collected by the courier before delivery.
  • We include all required customs documentation. Every shipment is prepared with the proper paperwork, including CUSMA documentation whenever applicable, to help ensure the smoothest possible customs process.
  • Regulations can change at any time. Customs rules and fees are outside of our control and may change without notice. While we do our best to stay informed, we appreciate your patience as we navigate these evolving policies alongside you.

If Your Package Requires Additional Fees

If your courier contacts you to collect duties, taxes, brokerage fees, or other import charges, you'll have the option to pay those fees and receive your order.

If the fees are higher than you're comfortable paying, you may choose to refuse the package. The shipment will be returned to us.

Once we receive the returned package, we'll refund the cost of the products purchased, less any return shipping, customs, brokerage, or other fees that were charged back to us by the courier.

Please note that original shipping charges are non-refundable.

We're committed to being transparent, communicating any significant changes as they happen, and making this process as smooth as possible. While we can't control government policies or courier fees, we can promise to continue offering thoughtfully made, sustainably crafted products and honest communication every step of the way.
